I used to think I knew all the gorgeous spots on the island of Hvar until I started talking to the healthy people…
Stunning views from the road, from the main squares and along the coast – Hvar is truly idyllic.
But what happens when you get off the beaten path, as some of the adrenaline junkies do? THAT is when Hvar becomes even more spectacular.
Kayaking to the hidden coves no tourists will ever find, mountain bike to the top of the island and cycle along its asphalt-free roads, sail around the hidden bays of the Pakleni Islands, a true paradise where you will not be disturbed.
Hvar has a very well-developed rock-climbing scene, with some truly astonishing views to behold, from various locations all over the island.
The cliffs of Sveta Nedjelja are perhaps the best on the island, and if you are looking for the best views from Hvar’s southern shores, these are hard to beat. On the northern side of the island? the picturesque setting of tiny Vela Stiniva nestles below its imposing cliffs, where much work has been done in recent years to make it an accessible climbing destination.
But if you are too lazy to venture too far from Hvar Town, a sensational climbing experience, with views to match, is just around the corner – check out the photo above.
