I must admit that when I first heard about plans for a live snake exhibition in Stari Grad last summer, I was a little bit sceptical. Live snakes on a tourist island? But I was curious, and took my equally curious daughter to check it out. It was fabulous!
I returned a couple of times last summer, both times with visiting children from friends, and the effect was the same. Curiosity, a little fear, then a world of education, excitement and – yes – holding the snakes, which some children promised they wouldn’t before they entered.
The staff are super professional, extremely well trained and very passionate about what they do. It is one of the reason I think that Planet Zmija – (Planet of Snakes) became such a hit last year. And if you check out their Facebook page, 400 5-star reviews out of 400 can’t be wrong.
Open daily from 09:00 to 23:00 until August 27, some times are better to visit than others. Such as tomorrow night at 20:00, for example, when there will be live feeding of the snakes. A real treat for the little ones. A really good exhibition open all day, and so good to take in when time away from the beach allows.
