It is the biggest hotel in Hvar Town, located a five minute walk from the town centre, with idyllic views over the Pakleni Islands.
And the first impression of this supremely positioned hotel, after taking in the breathtaking views, is… water!
The Adriatic is of course right next door, but one of the iconic photos of Hvar in recent years has been the fabulous cascading swimming area in front of the hotel, a magnificent poolside location to relax with a drink or two, as the little ones delight in the various water attractions.
Well-landscaped and very child friendly, a perfect introduction to the Hvar water scene for the kids.
And with plenty of sunbeds and appropriate shades, there are surely worse ways to spend the day on Hvar…
And if you look a little closer, you might just find something even more inviting and relaxing lurking in the shadows.
Of course, with the pristine Adriatic on the doorstep, it would be a crime not to take advantage. When, for example, was the last time you had water THIS clear to swim in? There is a beach at the bottom of the hotel, again very child friendly, with various watersports available to those looking to get a little more active.
Or not. Hotel Amfora is also home to the stunning 1920s colonnade, called Bonj les Bains, named by The Times as one of the top 20 beaches in Europe in 2010. Here is a place of luvury, pampering and privacy, with the wellness services of the Sensori spa at your service. To take a closer look at Bonj les Bains, here was our recent visit.
The spa at Bonj les Bains is just one of the things which makes Amfora the most versatile hotel on the island in my opinion. It really does have something for everyone, and it is perhaps no surprise that with Bonj’s spectacular setting and striking architecture, it has quickly become one of the premier wedding locations in all Dalmatia. Stunning setting apart, the close proximity of such a large hotel easily caters for one of headaches of getting married – the distance between the hotel, ceremony and reception area. At Amfora, all are in the same place, a short walk from one to the other. One less stress for the day, and Suncani Hvar has a very professional wedding planning service these days, handling dozens of weddings every year. If you have ever considered getting married abroad, Hvar really is a great option, and it comes with a ready-made honeymoon location, for the happy couple and all the guests!
The reception area is spacious and overlooking the beautiful view. With a bar included, this central space is a social and welcoming addition to the hotel.
An example of a Junior Suite. There really is no escaping that sensational view.
And there are worse things to look out on over breakfast that the Pakleni Islands waking up for another day in Paradise.
The breakfast offer. Amfora has a selection of dining options, including the Windows on Hvar restaurant, Bonj Steak and Seafood restaurant and grill, Maestral Balkan Grill, Cascades restaurant and Swim to bar, Momo beach and Splash beach bar and terraces. Did I mention flexibility? Amfora is the premier conference centre on Hvar, and arguable on any of Croatia’s islands, offering excellent conference facilities in a fabulous setting. The only danger I suppose is how to concentrate on the conference material with the Pakleni Islands in the background.
And for the ultimate in flexibility for a versatile hotel, how about hosting a VIP beach party for the biggest music festival in the region, Ultra Europe? Now four years old, the famous Amfora pools take on a different role for one day each July, as the Ultra Europe Beach Party comes to town for an approximate 5,000 partygoers.
From music festival to children paddling in the pool, world-class wellness treatments to state of the art conferencing, the facilities at Hotel Amfora deserve a closer look, whatever your hotel needs. Learn more about Hotel Amfora on the official Suncani Hvar website.
