VIDEO: Looking Back on 2016 and Ahead in 2017 for Stari Grad

As well all know, this year, Stari Grad (on our famous and sunny island of Hvar) marked an exceptional anniversary – 2,400 years of the city foundation! And while 2016 was a year of celebration, 2017 might just be Stari Grad’s year too…

The whole of 2016 was dedicated to Stari Grad’s special 2400 anniversary, with the central celebration held from 7 to 11 September. Aplethora of events such as Dani u vali, lectures, workshops, food festivals and plenty of concerts marked the memorable anniversary.

In other news, Stari Grad has also been named as a nominee for the European Best Destinations 2017 title! This year’s 2016 winner was fellow Croatian town, Zadar. In an effort to support Stari Grad, from 20 January 2017 to 10 February 2017 you can vote for our sunny island destination online.
