The Jelsa Rowing Club is one of the best in the country, but is it also the most exclusive?

There can be few coaches more dedicated than Jerko Bozikovic, who runs the club with quiet efficiency and evokes dedication from its young members, and their record of national success is more than impressive.

While Jerko’s efforts are a key part of the club’s success, is there another reason?

It would appear so…

Rowing through Jelsa’s tranquil harbour is one thing, but once one gets out into the nearby open seas, things are a different matter. For here, even in the shoulder month seasons such as September, one an find oneself rowing past 300 million dollar yachts.

Or find yourself rowing a little quicker to allow modern Europe’s first seaplanes to take off on their 12 minute journeys to Split.

We have not checked the boats of the Jelsa Rowing Club, but while they may not be as luxurious inside, they are filled with future champions.
