What is Inside Hvar’s Gold Medal Organic Ivan Dolac Barrique?

Among the range of world-class Hvar wines are the organic wines from the Svirce Cooperative, also known as PZ Svirce. 

They have an extensive range of wines, from very drinkable and affordable table wines, so some truly excellent bottles, none more so that their flagship Ivan Dolac Barrique 2008, which once again won organic gold as Biofach Mundus Vini in Germany last year, the second year in a row. 

A nice marketing effort here from Badel 1862 – what is inside this award-winning bottle? Some rough translations:

Island of Hvar

Plavac Mali 

Powerful wine

Ruby colour

Aged in oak barrels

Good with game and red meat, as well as Mediterranean delicacies

A slightly bitter taste with a full bouquet.
