Welcome to Hvar
Welcome to the island of Hvar, one of the most magical corners of the planet. Known as Croatia’s premier island, the sunniest in all year, one of the world’s most beautiful, the island with the most UNESCO heritage in the world (and that doesn’t include the oldest public theatre in Europe), Hvar is an island with something for everyone. Its wines are exported all over the world, from California to China, its healthy Mediterranean diet part of UNESCO heritage. Get lost in the sailing paradise that is the Pakeni islands, cycle the roads world champions use for winter training, kayak to the hidden coves. Immerse yourselves in history in the historic towns and villages dating back thousands of years, and after another hard day at the beach, check out some of the most vibrant nightlife on the Adriatic.
2018 sees 150 years of organised tourism in Europe, just one more thing that started on Hvar, with the founding of the Hvar Healthy Society in 1868. Join us on a journey of exploration of this fabulous slice of paradise. Total Hvar was founded in October 2011. Now in its 7th year, it is established as the prime and most reliable source of information about the island. If you would like to write for Total Hvar about any topic of this great island, please contact us on [email protected] The island is constantly changing, so if you come across any outdated information on the site, or have something new which you think should be featured, please contact us.
Enjoy your time on Hvar!
