Written testimonies about the history of this area date from the second half of the 16th century by the erection of the church of St. Michael. Recently, a monument to Don Mihovil Pavlinović, a priest, a writer, an educator and a leader of the Croatian people, was erected during the second half of the 19th century. In Veliki Godinj, in the middle of August, traditional customs are cultivated. There are workshops on stone processing, performances, folkloric tales. Individual day walks and day trips are possible throughout the day.
