Looking to Dine With a View?

Dobra Hrana, every Croatian’s favorite go-to for all things food, has decided to kiss summer goodbye by capturing the nostalgia of summer through some of the best restaurant views across Croatia.

Here are the top picks.

Restaurant Plavi Podrum, Volosko: Having operated as a restaurant for over 50 years, Plavi Podrum looks out onto the Volosko harbor, a view that is settling and calming to essentially everyone. Their menu is definitely heavily seafood oriented, with the signature dishes they recommend including items such as scampi and truffles.

Nautika, Dubrovnik: A sure winner, the terrace at Nautika extends indefinitely, with perfect views of the fortress Lovrijenac and Bokar. The head chef at Nautika is Mario Bunda, who leads a qualified team of cooks to bring you specialities like lobster from the island of Vis, and only the best from the local Adriatic waters. Side note: The restaurant is housed in the former Dubrovnik School of Maritime Studies, where it welcomed famous seafarers since as far back as 1881.

Bevanda, Opatija: Situated in the 5-star Bevanda hotel, the restaurant is led by chef Andrej Barbieri who creates local favorites with a modern twist. The restaurant itself is situated with a clear view of the sea, the town of Rijeka, the Istrian peninsula and islands in the distance.

Restaurant 360, Dubrovnik: Located on the top of the walls of Dubrovnik, Restaurant 360 looks out onto the port of Dubrovnik and the stunning views beneath it. Run by Marijo Curić, 360 is committed to elegance and the finest cuisine, offering up 3 course menus that include foie gras and pigeon.

Bon Appetit, Zagreb: Located in the Emporium center in downtown Zagreb, Bon Appetit’s terrace gives you panoramic views of the entire city. Their menu changes daily, and offers up classics such as beef noodle soup to Mexican spicy stew.

Paradigma, Split: If you sit on the terrace of this top notch restaurant, you can see views of the center of Split. Impeccable service and a classic fine dining experience, Paradigma prides themselves on their plate presentation as well – a good addition to the view.

Pelegrini, Šibenik: According to Dobra Hrana, Pelegrini has it all. A wonderful atmosphere, unique view of the Cathedral of St. Jacob and pristine food, Pelegrini lies in the heart of the historic center of Šibenik. Chef Rudolf Stefan brings you only the best that Croatia has to offer, and this restaurant is nodded as one of the best in Croatia.

Takenoko, Dubrovnik: A view overlooking Revelin and the historic Dubrovnik harbor, Takenoko has been talked up quite a bit since its opening in Dubrovnik this year. The place to enjoy a cocktail with a view as well, Takenoko serves up a different take on Japanese cuisine.

Foša, Zadar: Located along the coast in Zadar, this restaurant is situated in the port of the same name. Age-long traditions of Dalmatian cooking coupled with modern trends brings Foša to life. The interior here isn’t so bad either.

Panorama, Dubrovnik: A literal perfect view of the whole of Dubrovnik, Panorama boasts a large terrace that overlooks everything from the walls to the Elaphiti islands. Their menu has everything from sandwiches to risottos, pastas, and meat dishes.

Dragi di Lovrana, Lovran: This restaurant is located on the edge of a mountain ridge above the islands and the sea, with a 360 degree panorama view. Part of a hotel, the restaurant serves traditional flavors from the Kvarner region.
