Looking for a little artistic speed dating in the Dalmatian capital this weekend?
“Artists Speed Dating” project, created by Martina Miholić from Zagreb, will take place on Saturday, November 21, starting at 11 am at the Galerija coffee bar (Gallery of Art, 15 King Tomislav Street, Split). It is a part of the program of the 39th Split Salon, reports Dalmtinski Portal on November 17, 2015.
“Artists Speed Dating” is a collaborative project that will bring together artists from different arts, citizens and visitors in a popular form originally intended for meeting lovers or partners in a quick and easy way. The form provides for five to ten minutes of conversation, during which the visitors will have the opportunity to meet visual artists mainly coming from their local community. Once the time is up, the participant goes to another table to meet another artist.
The aim of the project is to introduce contemporary art practices to the citizens through direct contact and to familiarize them with cultural, artistic and often political ideas which emanate from their local communities.
The project was inspired by the process of communication and learning, mutual recognition and presentation of ourselves in the context of today’s multi-cultural environment, in the world of quick codification which functions according to a pre-created and generated set of elimination questions, with a goal of judging and assessing each other and presenting ourselves.
The visiting artists are: Duška Boban, Ana Marija Botteri Peruzović, Hrvoje Cokarić, Luka Duplančić. Alemka Đivoje, Ante Kuštre, Dijana Iva Sesartić, Darko Škrobonja, Vice Tomasović and Tina Vukasović.
