The legendary English singer and songwriter, and founder of the glam rock pioneers Roxy Music, is coming to Croatia!
It was like any other productive Monday in Split where I cleaned my room, organized my cabinets, responded to an abnormally large inbox of emails, and wrote about the always eventful world of Croatian sport. But then, something out of the ordinary happened. While I was scrolling through my Facebook feed with a salad by my side, I noticed friends of mine ’attending’ a concert set to take place this September. Bryan Ferry, the legendary English singer and songwriter and founder of glam rock pioneers Roxy Music, who I assumed was playing anywhere else but Croatia (and who I would travel to see anywhere outside of Croatia) announced a concert at St. Michael’s Fortress in Šibenik this September 5th.
Wait, what now?
I checked the event page a few times to make sure it was true, and even read the comments to make sure it wasn’t a hoax – I had only been waiting most of my adult life to see some part of the legendary Roxy Music before my eyes, and it was unlikely to be Brian Eno (sigh…). And because there were no rumors I needed to prove true, and the event was actually going to happen, I blasted Virginia Plain by Roxy Music and reveled in all of its glitter and glory.

One of the glam rock pioneers, a pop icon in the 70s and 80s, and a prolific songwriter who has sold over 30 million albums worldwide, Bryan Ferry has maintained his rock star status today among all generations of music fans – and on Wednesday, September 5, 2018, Bryan Ferry will play the always amazing St. Michael’s Fortress in Šibenik.
