March 31, 2018 – Costello and Aznavour will perform for their Croatian audience in July and August respectively
Music legends Elvis Costello and Charles Aznavour are coming to Pula this summer to perform in the magnificent Arena, Glas Istre reports. The two stars are the biggest confirmed acts for Backstage Live Pula 2018, a new music festival featuring eight standalone music events that will take place in Pula between May and November.
Elvis Costello will perform in the ancient amphitheatre with his band The Imposters on July 8. Costello released more than 30 albums in his impressive career of four decades, having collaborated with other legendary names such as Paul McCartney and Burt Bacharach.
In 2003, Costello and his former backing band The Attractions were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame; a year later, he ranked 80th on Rolling Stone’s list of the 100 Greatest Artists of All Time.
Charles Aznavour needs no special introduction: the iconic French singer of Armenian descent has been active for more than 70 years – how’s that for a career in music? He sold more than 100 million records, wrote more than 800 songs, left his mark on some 300 albums and performed in more than 90 countries.
Despite the fact he’ll be turning 94 in a month, Aznavour is not planning to retire any time soon. He’s vital and active, still performing all over the world. This year alone, he’ll visit Amsterdam, Prague, Barcelona, St. Petersburg, Moscow, Osaka, Tokyo, Monaco, London, Munich, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, New York, Washington, Miami, Kiev, Brussels – and of course, our very own Pula. The amphitheatre will welcome the legendary singer on August 16.
Tickets for Aznavour’s concert are available here at a starting price of 250 kuna; tickets for Costello & The Imposters can be purchased here, starting from 190 kuna.
