A nice surprise for Croatian cocktail fans.
“50 A Burger & Champagne Bar” from Zagreb, in collaboration with the Acrobat company, will bring to Zagreb Chanel Adams, the cocktail master at the famous PTD (Please Do Not Tell) bar, one of the best bars in the world and an unavoidable entry in the World’s Best Bars rankings.
PDT is famous for its unique offer of rebellious cocktails and hot dogs, and it is a popular venue to go out in New York, particularly known for its intimate atmosphere, distinctive interior and creative cocktails.
The founders of PDT are Jim Meehan and Jeff Bell. Meehan came to Hong Kong for the first time in 2009 and, as part of the Masters of Mixology, got introduced to Richard Ekkebus, the culinary director of the two-Michelin-star Amber Hotel. The pop-up story of PDT in Hong Kong began in 2016 when the legendary New York bar decided to open a bar as part of the Hong Kong’s famous The Landmark Mandarin Oriental.
PDT founders Jim Meehan and Jeff Bell were joined in Hong Kong by Chanel Adams, who previously worked as a manager of the Happy Paradise bar in Hong Kong. Just like in New York, the PDT Hong Kong branch has only 25 seats and is entered via an entrance hidden in a telephone booth. In order to enter, all guests have to type in the correct entry number in the booth.
The similar creative direction and hospitality approach have linked the PTD Hong Kong and “50 A Burger and Champagne Bar” from Zagreb. For Chanel Adams, this will be the first visit to Zagreb, where she will spend a week creating a new cocktail list for “50 Burgers”.
Cocktail fans in Zagreb will be able to meet her on September 21, starting at 7 pm, at “50 A Burger and Champagne Bar”.
