Dance Festival in Šibenik

This summer, dancers, dance ensembles, choreographers and prominent arts organizations from the Croatia and abroad will present their works at the Sibenik Dance Festival. The event will be held from July 25-30.

The festival will take place at three of the most beautiful open air stages in Šibenik: the stage in front of Sibenik’s St. James Cathedral, the stage at the fortress of St. Michael, as well as on the stage of the Croatian National Theatre in Šibenik. During last years festival, around 300 dancers from Croatia and abroad attended, with this year expected to be an even more exciting program and turn out.

 

The festival will kick off on July 25 at 21h at the fortress of Saint Michael. The opening performance will be the Ballet Theatre Split ‘5 do 12’, choreographed by Igor Kirov, with music by Kiril Džajkovski.

The opening show will be followed by ‘Metamorphosis’, ‘INYL’ and ‘Eight red hearts’ all performed by Sigal Ziv, the Israeli guest of the festival. Ziv is one of the leading artists in the category of ethnic dance, and a pioneer of this particular dance form in Israel. His dance technique is known to hypnotize and delight audiences around the world.

The final night of the festival on Saturday, July 30th will be a couple appearance by Israeli Limor Ziv, and Split’s Ivica Bago. They will dance ‘La Flor’ through neoclassical ballet and contemporary dance.
