Hardwell Coming to Ultra Europe in Split

Total Croatia News

One of the most famous DJs in the world talks about his love for Croatia.

Robbert van de Corput, better known as Hardwell, was named by DJ Mag as the world’s best DJ in 2013 and 2014. At this year’s Ultra in Split, the fans will once again be able to see why he is so popular, reports Večernji List on June 21, 2016.

The Dutch musician was helped by his father when choosing the name because that is actually his last name in Latin. “It seemed cool to me so I have kept it”, said the popular 28-year-old for whom this will not be the first visit to Croatia. He revealed that he likes coming back to Croatia, and not just because of good parties. “Natural beauty of Croatia is incredible. Croatia has stunning landscapes and beautiful coastline”, he said.

As for his performance in Split, he has already prepared a real treat. “I have introduced a new single with Thomas Newson called ‘8Fifty’ and I will soon release a new song with Craig David called ‘No Holding Back’. Perhaps I will include them in my set, but we will see about that. I have a lot of yet unreleased music that I could test during my set. The fans will simply have to wait for a surprise, but one thing is certain – it will be a great show with a lot of energy”, he said.

Although he is only 28 years old, he has already received legendary status in the world of electronic dance music. “The status which I have managed to achieve is a result of several different elements, especially the support I get from the fans, the passion I have for music and for the music scene in general, a lot of work and, of course, a little bit of luck. You have to believe in your goals and work hard to achieve them. But nothing is possible without the support of fans who believe in you and your music”, he explained.

“Dutch DJs have a very good and thorough approach to dance music. We accept new talents and we are very passionate when it comes to this type of music. All of this contributes to creating a powerful music scene that accepts new DJs. Electronic dance music is a part of pop culture in the Netherlands”, explained Hardwell who once again urged everybody to come to Split from 15 to 17 July for Ultra Europe.
