Mamma Mia Sequel to Be Filmed on Vis?

According to rumours, the sequel to the famous ABBA musical will be filmed in Croatia.

Soon after it was confirmed that the movie musical “Mamma Mia” will get a sequel, rumours started that the production team from Hollywood was looking for shooting locations on the Croatian island of Vis, reports 24sata.hr on June 15, 2017.

Vis is expected to stand in for the Greek island of Kalokairi.

The producers have reportedly already filed an application for subsidies available from the Croatian Audiovisual Centre (HAVC), which did not want to confirm the information.

The sequel to “Mamma Mia”, itself based on a successful West End musical, is expected to be released ten years after the original, in July 2018. Just like in the original movie, Meryl Streep, Pierce Brosnan, Colin Firth, and Amanda Seyfried will star.

The filming on Vis is expected to take place in autumn.
