Misty Motovun Among Awards at Zagreb TourFilm Festival 2016

Total Croatia News

Some richly deserved recognition for Croatia’s timelapse masters at the annual Zagreb TourFilm Festival on September 23, 2016.

Their photographs were sent for exhibition all over Europe as part of Croatia’s welcome to the EU in 2013. and theier Timelapse Croatia (see below) was hailed as the best ever tourism promotion of Croatia a few years ago by some quarters of the national press, and last night, at the elegant Hotel Esplanade in Zagreb, Osijek photography legends Mario Romulic and Drazen Stojcic were recognised at the Zagreb TourFilm Festival for another magnificent work, a timelapse video called Misty Motovun, which won both the best timelapse video and best short video of 3 minutes.

The short timelapse video of the popular Istrian hilltop destinaton, famous for its truffles and film festival, as well as being one of Croatia’s most picturesque destinations, is superbly captured in the mist in the timelapse video, which you can see below.

As good as this video is, it is not the most popular work from the Osijek duo this year. An earlier timelapse of Europe’s sunniest island captured in a storm went viral in its own right, before it was adopted as the official Eurovision Song video for Nina Kraljic’s ‘Lighthouse’, which pushed the number of views into several million.

For many, however, the initial timelapse of Croatia remains a favourite. Outstanding work and fantastic promotion of Croatia. From the TCN team, heartfelt congratulations at this justified awards.
