Need for Speed: Night Stunts in Split

Total Croatia News

Someone has been watching Fast and Furious a bit too much.

Before the first scenes of certain movies, documentaries or entertaining TV shows start unraveling in front of the viewers, there’s a good chance you’ll see that ominous ‘do not attempt this at home’ sign. Judging by some recent public stunts carried out by unidentified individuals in Split, some people don’t take the warning very seriously.

According to Slobodna Dalmacija, the new roundabout built next to the Mall of Split lured some skilled speed addicts. In late hours of the night, the traffic circle turns into a training ground for drivers who are practising their drifting skills, endangering other vehicles in passing.

The unknown perpetrators zoom around, both on the roundabout and on the roof of the shopping centre, their screeching tires generating intolerable noise that ends up waking half the neighbourhood. The following footage was taken on Thursday around 11 in the evening, showing reckless stunts of the sort that shouldn’t be attempted outside of race tracks and video games.

The police haven’t yet done anything about the issue, but some of the locals decided to take things into their own hands: at the end of the video, you can see a person chasing one of the mischievous drivers. It seems they’ve had enough of the fast and furious.
