Kajkavians are coming to Zagreb.
“Kajkavci in Lisinski”, Sunday, 19 March 2017, 2 pm to 10 pm – a joint promotional and cultural project of Koprivnica-Križevci County, Krapina-Zagorje County, Međimurje County, Varaždin County, Zagreb County, the City of Zagreb, and Radio Kaj. The main organizer is Radio Kaj.
Programme: 2 pm to 10 pm – all sections of the Vatroslav Lisinski Concert Hall in Zagreb: exhibition and trade fair with the presentation of tourist services, agricultural products, trades and crafts, traditional products, local art and culture, from the area of the five kajkavian counties and the city of Zagreb.
Participants and products: spas, health tourism, gastronomy, family farms, winemakers, cabbage producers, beekeepers… Lace, cheese, cabbage, pumpkin seed oil, wine, traditional wooden toys, strudels, cakes, gingerbreads and other interesting and unique products of the kajkavian region.
Additional activities: performances by artistic and culture societies, music groups and soloists, members of historical detachments of Croatian army, majorettes, fashion shows, presentations of exhibitors, product samplings, sweepstakes…
The stage in the Vatroslav Lisinski Hall lobby (second floor) at 5 pm – speeches by organizers, county prefects and mayor of Zagreb
Lisinski Small Hall at 5.30 pm – presentation of recent kajkavian literary works with a focus on decades-long tradition of literary events held in the kajkavian counties, which preserve and promote the kajkavian regiolect.
Lisinski Large Concert Hall at 7 pm – gala concert of best kajkavian songs from the Festival of Kajkavian Songs and the Song and Drum Festival, and a fashion show of the Kotka men’s suits.
