ZAGREB, September 23, 2018 – Hungarian Days, an event presenting the Hungarian town of Csepel through gastronomy, culture, customs and crafts, is taking place in Rijeka this weekend.
The event was inaugurated with a concert by Hungarian pianist Tamas Erdl at the Maritime and History Museum of the Croatian Littoral on Friday evening.
Saturday featured street performances by the Hurdy Gang, which merges Hungary’s ethnic music and Turkish rhythms, the Budapest Music Show, featuring Hungarian Roma music, and the Bohemian Brass Band, as well as the Bobit puppet theatre from Pecs, and an exhibition on the Rigo Jancsi cake.
On Sunday, the choir of the Ady Endre Hungarian Cultural Society will sing at a mass at the Our Lady of Lourdes church, and there will also be an exhibition on the cultural heritage of the Baranja region at the headquarters of Rijeka’s Hungarian community.
