April the 26th, 2024 – Did you know that one of the world’s most famous rides has a connection to Croatia? Check out the spectacular roller coaster inspired by Nikola Tesla and Mate Rimac’s remarkable Nevera.
As Poslovni Dnevnik writes, there’s a bit of Croatia dotted all over this planet, so it’s only right that the country also earned its place at Europa-Park, the spectacular and largest German amusement park.
In addition to the thematic area dedicated to Croatia, which is also the largest of them all in total of ten, Europa-Park is also richer for its roller coaster – Voltron Nevera powered by Rimac. Lovers of adrenaline rides, of which there is no shortage in Europa-Park, will now have more reason to visit the German amusement park, which is quite unjustifiably relatively unknown in Croatia.
In cooperation with Mate Rimac, the innovative Croatian manufacturer of electric hypercars, visitors will be able to take on a completely new challenge. The Voltron Nevera is a roller coaster inspired by Nikola Tesla and Rimac’s Nevera, and it has deservedly taken the title of “the fiercest” ride yet.
It is characterised by a launch at the steepest angle of a staggering 105 degrees, four separate launches with an acceleration of up to 90 kilometres per hour, including one backward launch, seven spins with 2.2 seconds of continuous weightlessness.
Anyone who has been on the so-called “death train” knows how intense this kind of ride is, which lasts about three minutes. Its construction, carried out by MACK Rides, which started Europa-Park 49 years ago, took two years, and preparations lasted around five years.
a tribute to croatian mastermind nikola tesla
This roller coaster inspired by Nikola Tesla and the stunning Nevera hypercar is the first ride of this complexity after 10 years spent in a park located in a small, former fishing town called Ruhr in southern Germany (between the French and Swiss borders). It’s setting some wild new standards in both design and innovation.
“Fantastic. Fierce. Exciting”, are just some of the comments of those who dared to ride the roller coaster inspired by Nikola Tesla and Rimac. Compared to all other rides, Ronald Mack, the founder of Europa-Park, says that this one is the fiercest yet. Mack is convinced that the Croatian themed area and the amazing Voltron Nevera will bring them more guests and thus better business results.
a design inspired by hvar
However, it isn’t only the new roller coaster inspired by Nikola Tesla and the Nevera causing a wave of enthusiasm. The thematic area dedicated to Croatia in Europa-Park is definitely worth a visit on the whole. The inspiration for its design was Hvar, and at its centre is a special tribute is paid to Nikola Tesla, the greatest Croatian inventor and mastermind of all time.
Mate Rimac, the founder and CEO of Rimac Group, stated via video call that he’s thrilled that they’ve been involved in the creation of one of the most exciting roller coasters in Europe. He also said he loved that there is also a warm tribute to the remarkable Nikola Tesla, who was also an idol and source of inspiration for Mate Rimac himself.
“I believe that the project will contribute to the further positioning of Croatia around the world, and at the same time attract many visitors to Europa-Park”, said Rimac.
You enter the Croatian themed area, walk down down Marmontovo Street, a well-known street in Split. In addition to riding the roller coaster inspired by Nikola Tesla and the Nevera, visitors can also visit an exhibition dedicated to Croatia and even eat traditional Croatian food. There is also an 800-year-old olive tree.
