Intended as a guide for city transport, CityBus Zadar aims to encourage the citizens of Zadar and its guests to use public transport more frequently.
The residents of Zadar and its guests can now use the free CityBus Zadar mobile application! Designed as a guide for public transport, the free mobile application is now available for iOS and extends to all of Zadar County. The app can be downloaded via the Google Play store or App Store, and its ultimate goal is to encourage citizens to use public transport more often, reports Dalmacija Danas and Dalmatinski Portal on November 16, 2017.
The app offers the following functionalities:
⦁ Display of marked bus stops in the Zadar County area, including the islands
⦁ A view of the closest bus stops from the location of the user with information about which bus lines travel there

The idea for the CityBus Zadar application was created at Google I / O Extended Hackathon, held in May of this year in Zadar and organized by Impaddo. The entire project has been developed with the support of its partners including Impaddo, Liburnija, Innovative Zadar, and the Tourist Board of Zadar. The purpose of the application is to encourage citizens to use public transport more frequently while offering all of the information of Zadar’s transportation in the palm of their hands.
“CityBus Zadar is the starting point for even more smart solutions in the city and county. CityBus Zadar is developing the first upgrade for existing versions of the mobile application which will include an overview of the current bus locations on the map with a more detailed estimated time of arrival at the chosen bus stop. At the same time, the entire system is being developed with the Liburnija city carrier to develop an administrative interface for city and county traffic management,” said Stipe Stagličić, adding that the Liburnija bus operator has only received positive reactions of the application.
Routing data and bus stops will be updated daily if delays are detected, and Stagličić invites all citizens and users of public transport and the CityBus Zadar mobile application to report any potential disadvantages, such as unmarked stops or wrongly marked routes, via the app’s social networks.
