Continuing our look at the luxury Croatian real estate market through the eyes of the impressive portfolio of Sotheby’s Croatia International Realty on December 22, 2017, a delightful treasure in the heart of the UNESCO World Heritage Site that is the old town of Trogir.

I never tire of walking around the spectacular and historic old stone towns of Dalmatia. They breathe history and tradition, and there is always something of interest around the corner.

One of the most fascinating things about them – to me at least – is just how different they look from different angles and perspectives. Walking around the towns in the streets is a very egalitarian experience, but when it comes to looking at the streets from the apartments and villas of the towns, that is when it becomes interesting.

There has been a marked increase in the number of high-quality renovations of old stone buildings in recent years on the coast, and there is untold luxury contained behind some of those external stone walls.

The best of both worlds – historic stone and tradition, complemented with all the best that modern luxury can bring.

And there are few finer old towns than fabulous Trogir, whose old town is one of the 11 UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Croatia. A small piece of it could be yours in our latest excerpt from the catalogue of Sotheby’s Croatia International Realty, who introduce Apartment Perla as follows:

Trogir is a coastal town in central Dalmatia. It is a picturesque town which, because of its renowned heritage, is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It sits on the small island of Ciovo and is connected the mainland by a small bridge. Its ideal location is due to the proximity of the Split Airport, which is 27 kilometers away, and to the historic city of Split, only six kilometers away.

The island of Ciovo also offers beautiful beaches, sporting activities, a lively nightlife with many restaurants and cafes, and the beauty of its unspoiled nature.

The nearby marina can accommodate boats of up to 50 meters. Impressive yachts are often moored at a dock adjoining the main waterfront. They complement the impressive sights of the old town, which is surrounded by walls that were once a fortress. Today, Trogir is an inevitable port of call for Adriatic sailors.

The neighboring islands of Drvenik Veliki and Drvenik Mali have peaceful sandy beaches and traditional restaurants with authentic Dalmatian cuisine.
