The Tourist Boards of Southern Istria have announced dates of the South Istria Cycling Tours 2016 at a press conference held today, Tuesday, April 12, 2016, local newspaper Glas Istre reports.
The South Istria tourist boards (Pula, Vodnjan, Medulin, Fažana, Ližnjan, Marčana and Barban) are organising 6 cycling tours with the aim of popularising cycling and presenting some 150 km trails in the South of Croatia’s largest peninsula.
The “South on 2 Wheels” tours/get-togethers take place between April and October and are suitable for participants of all ages and families are also invited to join. Each of the six routes is between 20 and 25 km long and technically not too demanding.
The dates and times of the tours:
4/16 MEDULIN, car park in front of the Medulin campsite, registration: 09:00, start: 10:00
4/30 FAŽANA, waterfront, car park in front of the Badel building, registration: 14:00, start: 15:00
5/21 VODNJAN, Kažuni Park (roundabout for Bale), registration: 16:00, start: 17:00
6/18 ŠIŠAN, in front of the church, registration: 15:00, start: 16:00
9/17 DIVŠIĆI, school playground, registration: 09:00; start: 10:00
10/2 PULA, Verudela fortress (ex Verudela terrace), registration: 09:00, start: 10:30
In the case of rain, the tour will take place 7 days later.

Upon registration for the first tour, each participant will receive a card that will be stamped on each tour in which he or she participates. Those cyclists who take part in 4 or more tours will enter a raffle at the final event in Medulin where they can win valuable prizes.
In addition, all cyclists who participate in 4 or more tours will receive an official T-shirt of the event.Participation in all cycling tours is free of charge. After each cycling tour, there will be a get-together and meal for all participants.
