Some 260 portions were delivered, 50 percent more than originally planned

Uber celebrated its first 180 days of operation in Split by giving away pancakes. Although only 180 pancakes were planned, one or each day Uber has been active in this largest Dalmatian city, soon it became clear how popular pancakes are with the locals, Dalmatinski Portal reported on November 25, 2016.

Within only two hours over 10 thousand requests were received, 83 per minute via the Uber app, 1.4 every second. Not to let down too many users, a total of 260 pancakes were delivered, 50 percent more than originally planned, Uber has announced.

“Pancakes were requested all over the city, but only the fastest managed to get one. Not everyone was able to share in the celebration yesterday, but to compensate, Uber will secure a discount on the next ride for all who didn’t get a pancake. Also, those who were most persistent in ordering pancakes will be contacted by Uber representatives via e-mail and send them a certificate for free pancakes in Stari Plac. So, do not despair, the celebration of Uber’s first six months is still on,” the company said.
