May 10, 2018 – If you like to spend your time reading or writing, we have a suggestion that might spark your interest

Staying in Pula for a while and looking for something to do? Once you’re done with the obligatory round of sightseeing, stick to the cultural theme and head to the Community Centre Rojc for a literary-themed night.

Rojc headquarters in Pula house a lovely little venue called the Living Room (Dnevni boravak), a gathering point for the locals and visitors who are looking for a space where they could hang out, meet new people or just read a good book in peace. People of all ages and nationalities are welcome in the Living Room, so it’s no wonder the place is abuzz with exceptionally positive vibes.

Speaking of books, the Living Room has announced a cool event that’s to take place on Saturday, May 19: a poetry night! The event will kick off with a book exchange at 5 in the afternoon; in case you have an extra book or two lying around which you’re not plan to reread anytime soon, bring them along and make someone’s day. You can also stock up on some good titles for your summer reading – the days of lying on a beach and diving into a good novel are just around the corner.

The poetry night will start two hours later, at 7 in the evening. You can bring your own work and present it to the audience, but you’re more than welcome to just read a poem or two penned by your favourite authors. The point is to enjoy the written word and celebrate creativity – no pressure whatsoever!

Visitors are encouraged to bring their own drinks and snacks to make the event more enjoyable. Follow the event on Facebook for more information.
