After being featured in the New York Times, Zagreb has come to the attention of The Guardian’s writers as well – on June 3 they named Top 10 restaurants and bistros visitors should go to when visiting Zagreb.
“Croatia’s capital is bursting with good-value places to eat and drink. And new flights from the UK have made getting there cheaper too,” the article starts, referring to low-cost carrier Monarch’s routes from London Gatwick and Manchester to Zagreb.
It’s not your typical single-category numerical list – instead, each restaurant’s unique features are mentioned, such as best for breakfast, bar in the suburbs, cake with style, or fine dining in the woods, so you can choose the one that suits you (and your gourmet needs) best.
Some of the restaurants and bistros are located in “the epicentre of Zagreb’s bistro revolution…busy Nikole Tesle street, whose pavements almost exclusively contain restaurant terraces,” while others can be found in different parts of the city, meaning that the list is not limited to the centre.
