Top British Chef Praises Croatian Coast During Time in Šibenik, Vodice, Skradin and Prvić

Lauren Simmonds

Praise from a talented British chef as he spends time in Dalmatia.

Croatia’s coast is a dream for many, and the Dalmatian coast in particular attracts tourists from all over the world, particularly Northern Europeans such as the Germans and of course, the Brits, who are often in desperate need of some relaxation and a dose of Vitamin D after being in the cold, often harsh climes of the north.

As ŠibenikIN writes on the 1st of March, 2018, in the sixth episode of the first Croatian gastronomic travelogue in English, the talented and well-known British master chef Dhruv Baker visited Šibenik, Vodice, Skradin and Prvić, where he got better acquainted with local gastronomic culture, as well as traditional recipes typical to these areas. Aside from the main topic of food and cooking, Baker fell in love with Prvić Šepurina’s stunning beauty, and stated that he would like to spend a few weeks sailing along the Croatian coast, precisely owing to such beautiful small places on Croatia’s many small islands.

”Dhruv Baker: From Croatia with Love” is the first Croatian gastronomic travelogue in English language, and has been recorded in various locations across the country, exploring the cuisine and gastronomy of different areas of Croatia.

In each of the episodes, Baker gets to know the local environment, the culture, the history and engages in open-air cooking at some of the country’s most beautiful ourdoor locations where, at least so far, cooking is not practiced.

In the sixth episode of the first season, the Dalmatian coastal town of Šibenik is visited, recognised and presented as not only a picturesque destination, but also one of the most important places in Croatian history, full of cultural heritage, and as a truly unique city surrounded by ancient stone fortresses and stunning Mediterranean gardens.

After Šibenik, which has come on leaps and bounds in popularity with tourists from not only Europe but from all over the world in recent years, Baker then visited Vodice and Prvić, an island whose beauty delighted him and, as mentioned, implanted the desire to spend more time sailing along the Croatian coast and visiting the islands in him.

The English language travelogue is broadcast in almost a hundred countries around the world, and the aim is to better acquaint as many people as possible with the gastronomy, rich cuisine, traditions and culture of Croatia.
