Bozidar Domagoj Buric’s ”Republika” will be shown on the international Viasat History as of the 3rd of May 2017!

The play-documentary series ”Republika” premiered last year and was produced by HRT (Croatian Broadcasting Company). The popular series covers the ins and outs of the long, unusual history of the once autonomous Dubrovnik Republic (Ragusa), the Republic not only survived but prospered from 1358 until 1808, when Napoleonic forces succeeded in formally annexing and occupying the territory.

As of the beginning of May, ”Republika” will be able to millions of viewers around the world via the widely watched Viasat History program. In December of 2016, Viasat World Limited, (which covers a total of 47 countries) redeemed the broadcasting rights from HRT. Before launching the broadcast, HRT and Viasat World Limited will launch a joint promotional campaign related to the remarkable series on television, via social networks and the internet. The beginning of the campaign will be presented to business partners, as well as to domestic and foreign media on the 26th of April in the Croatian capital of Zagreb.

With the clear goal being the promotion of ”all things Dubrovnik”, as well as highlighting parts of the city’s long and colourful past, the campaign will also take place on the Viasat History Facebook page and will last for a duration of one month. A game will be included via the website: republic.viasathistory.com.hr, giving participants the chance to win free travel and accommodation in Dubrovnik for themselves and a circle of friends.
