Two Croatian Gymnasts in European Championship Finals

Total Croatia News

Croatian gymnasts Anton Kovačević the bar and Robert Seligman on the pommel horse have made it to the finals of the European Championship to be held in the Romanian town Cluj-Napoci

Kovačević finished 4th, Robert 6th. After falling off the pommel horse, Filip Ude and Leonardo Kušan were out as well as Tin Srbić on the bar for the same reason, Jutarnji List reported on April 19, 2017.

“I cannot be completely satisfied with my performance, but the result is there. This was the crown of this half-season, all the competitions and World Cups in Baku and Doha and training with Filip Ude in Nedelišće, have shown I am on the right path. The qualifications were a fight, but unlike others, I made it to the end. In the end I got a solid score, good motivation for the finals. Then everything is up for grabs. You can expect a fight for the medal from me,” said Seligman of his seventh European finale.

A surprise was offered by Anton Kovačević, his first finale. “I am satisfied with my performance. Some things could have been better, but everything doesn’t always match at competitions, rarely. This was my current optimum. This exercise and this finale are a great birthday present,” said the birthday boy who was 22 today.
