Will you be voting for the Pearl of the Adriatic?
As we previously reported, two Croatian locations, Dubrovnik and Kaštela Gomilica, have been rightfully nominated for the prestigious European Film Location Award, where they found themselves ranked among an elite society of the eleven most beautiful European film locations of the decade by the selection of Filming Europe – European Film Commissiones Network (EUFCN).
As DuList reports on the 20th of October, 2017, you can cast your vote for any destination up until October the 25th, 2017 on the Cineurope website, and voters can expect a valuable reward for their time – a three-day stay for two people at whichever beautiful location gains the highest number of votes!
Dubrovnik and Kaštel Gomilica (Kaštilac), have found themselves placed among the finalists on this presitigious list primarily owing to the hit Game of Thrones series, and have been ranked alongside favourites like the Greek island of Antiparos and Poland’s Wroclaw.
We all know Dubrovnik is beautiful, and it seems that a great many film and TV companies have picked up on that fact over the past few years, particularly since the incredible popularity of the GoT series saw Dubrovnik (or Kings Landing, as it is now commonly referred to), shoot to fame as a stunning filming location, since attracting interest from various TV, film and commercial producers, including but not limited to the makers of the classic Bond series and of course, the highly-anticipated Robin Hood: Origins.
It would be bordering on insanity to not vote for the Pearl of the Adriatic given all of its praiseworthy achievements over the past few years.
The announcement of the winner will take place at the European Parliament in Brussels, Belgium, on the 7th of November, 2017.
