Zagreb Airport Nominated for Best New Building Award at World Architecture Festival

The Festival takes place in Berlin, November 15 – 17.

The new terminal building at Franjo Tudjman International Airport has been shortlisted for an award at the World Architecture Festival, taking place in Berlin November 15 – 17, 2017, EX-YU Aviation reported on July 20, 2017.

The building has been nominated in Transport – Completed Buildings category, together with airports in Stockholm, Los Angeles, Oslo, Helsinki, and Wellington, well as some other transport buildings around the world, including metros and travel centres.

The new terminal was designed by Kincl and Neidhardt arhitekti and IGH Projektiranje. The total area of the new terminal is 65,000 m2, with 26,000 steel construction items, 15,000 m2 of glass surfaces and 30 check-in counters.

The building took three years to complete, it was the biggest infrastructural project in Croatia in the past ten years, and it cost around EUR 260 million.
