60000 tourists makarska riviera

August the 2nd, 2025 – Approximately 60000 tourists are currently enjoying the sun and sea on the gorgeous Makarska Riviera, further confirming the endless popularity of this part of central Dalmatia.

As Poslovni Dnevnik writes, the Makarska Riviera has very concretely reaffirmed its status as one of Croatia’s most important tourist destinations this year. It has done well in attracting over 59,000 domestic and foreign tourists, according to the latest data from local tourist offices.

Makarska is proudly leading the way with more than 17,500 visitors, the Municipality of Baška Voda has recorded more than 9,900, and Tučepi has registered almost 7,000 tourists. The rest of the guests are holidaying in resorts along the coastline between Brela and Gradac. This wave of tourists visiting the Makarska Riviera confirms the growth and resilience of the tourism sector in this region of Dalmatia, despite global economic challenges and geopolitics that often burden key European markets.

The high occupancy rate of hotel capacities reflects continued demand, while local hoteliers urge visitors to plan their accommodation in advance, especially for August, known as the very height of the summer peak season.

The tourist board has also emphasised (once again) the importance of maintaining the quality of service and developing infrastructure in order to meet the expectations of an increasingly demanding international market. In the context of global developments in tourism, the entire wider Makarska region is constantly showing an ability to adapt, promising to continue these positive trends until the end of the summer season.

Although challenges in the international economic environment may affect travel dynamics, this beautiful destination maintains a competitive advantage thanks to its excellent infrastructure and diverse range of accommodation. Investments in tourism capacities and promotion of the entire Makarska area remain priorities to ensure long-term sustainability and further increase in the number of visitors in the years to come.
