Another excellent vintage for Agris winery.

“Wines such as this are the future. Delicious, fresh and affordable,” said the famous Croatian chef Marin Medak at the presentation of Agris Škrlet 2017 at the Rougemarin City restaurant.

The first public presentation of the wine was organized by the Women on Wine association, in collaboration with Agris, a young but hugely successful wine company from Zagreb. This is its third label on the market.

“They are light and refreshing, and they evoke the summer,” said members of the wine association about the wine produced by their colleague Jadranka Lešić, under the watchful eye of Boris Lešić and with the assistance of the whole family.

The members of the association immediately described Agris Škrlet 2017 as a real “female” wine because it is light and velvety, with accentuated floral and fruit notes and its playfulness makes it ideal for summer evenings which are ahead of us.

Especially for this very occasion, Marin Medak created a finger-food menu that was light with plenty of vegetable notes and which perfectly accompany Škrlet, but also other varieties which Agris produces, Malvasia and Graševina.

Agris Škrlet 2017 was served with homemade focaccia with field bean, marrow and garlic sprout cream. That was followed by steamed codfish with tamarind cream and a combination of sprouts. The garden notes infused with light spring freshness were completed with vegetable terrine, lemon and olive oil emulsion in combination with coriander and fresh leafy salad.

Agris Graševina 2016 was served with smelt fried with lemon and fennel, and this typical Mediterranean finger food was supplemented with tomatillos salsa. Strawberries in chocolate with coulis from peppermint went perfectly with Agris Malvasia 2017, which also premiered at this event.

The Lešić family, the owners of the Agris winery, expressed their satisfaction with two significant awards and acknowledgments from significant world competitions. Agris Graševina won two bronze medals at the recently concluded IWC and Decanter assessments in London.
