Ahearne Rosina Rose Finally Available at Me and Mrs Jones in Jelsa

Total Croatia News

Updated on:

It is a story we have been following closely since the arrival of the first Master of Wine on the island of Hvar. After taking part in Dalmacija Wine Expo a couple of years ago in Split, Jo Ahearne MW decided to move to Hvar and make her own wine, the first Master of Wine to do so in Croatia.

A firm friendship with the Tomic family ensued, and Jo took up temporary wine-making residence at the Bastijana winery in Jelsa, before moving out to her own facility in Sveta Nedjelja, where she has been busy producing a rose from the indigenous Hvar Darnekusa grape.

Initial reaction has been very positive to the wine, but now you have a chance to judge for yourself, as the Ahearne Rosina Rose is finally in the bottle, and all necessary Croatian stamps obtained. As far as I know, it is available only in one place currently, with more to be added shortly. But if you want to be one of the first to try it, head on over to Me and mrs Jones in Jelsa, on the waterfront across from the harbour, the first restaurant to take delivery of the Ahearne Rosina 2015.

And be quick! There were only 3,000 bottles of this wine made in total, so supply will be limited. It will be appearing in a select number of quality restaurants all over Croatia shortly, and we will publish the list when we have it.

Update: the Ahearne Rosina can also now be enjoyed at DiVino and Paradies Garten in Hvar Town.
