May accounted for 64.5% of the passenger traffic in the first five months of 2021, which was almost 350,000, down 48% on the year, when most of the traffic was generated in January-March, prior to a lockdown which lasted through May.

Since there was no such lockdown this year, May 2021 was markedly better than May 2020, also thanks to vaccination against COVID, lifting of travel restrictions and many more flights.

In the first five months of 2021, there were 15,297 landings and take-offs, up 10.6% on the year, including 4,618 in May alone, up 311.2%.

The total traffic of freight in airports in May 2021 amounted to 727 tonnes, which was an increase of 60.8% compared to May 2020, while in the first five months of the year, freight traffic was 15,297 tonnes (+3%).

The largest traffic of passengers in May 2021 was recorded at Zagreb Airport (68,000), which was an increase of 417.4% compared to May 2020.

Split Airport followed with 33,000 passengers (the traffic of passengers amounted to only 2,000 in May 2020), and Dubrovnik Airport with 17,000 passengers, up 342% from May 2020.

The most significant international traffic of passengers in May 2021 was realised with German airports (30,000), which was an increase of 269.2% compared to the same period of 2020.
