Yesterday’s flight was delayed because there were no staff available to load the luggage on the plane

After being fined for the Rome mishap, it seems that Franjo Tudjman International Airport is in deep water again.

AS N1 reported on June 5, Croatia Airline’s flight OU662 was supposed to take off at 2 p.m. yesterday, June 5, but it was 39 min late. One of the passengers said that this was what the pilot said about the delay:

“Due to the lack of ground staff at the Zagreb Airport, we are not able to take off at the moment because your luggage has not been loaded on the plane and there is nobody there to load it.”

Dnevno.hr has reached out to the Airport, and got the following reply:

“We can confirm that there has been a delay at the Croatia Airlines flight OU662 to Dubrovnik today, June 5 due to air traffic congestion. The reason for this particular delay was the fact that another airline’s aircraft landed late due to a lightning strike and the staff were tending to that aeroplane.

We would also like to stress that, due to a big increase in traffic, we are working intensively with Croatia Airlines, our biggest business partner, to offer the best possible service to our clients.”
