October 26, 2023 – To see the famous Ed Sheeran in Croatia has long been a dream of so many. And it’s about to finally come true! His record-breaking ‘+ – = ÷ x’ Mathematics tour is coming to Asia and Europe, with a Zagreb concert scheduled for August 10, 2024.

As Jutarnji reports, tickets for the spectacle will be on sale from October 26 at 10 a.m. on Eventim.

“Ed Sheeran’s arrival in Zagreb next summer is the result of successful cooperation between the City of Zagreb and his team. We are glad that we can offer a spectacle that I believe our citizens will enjoy,” said Emina Višnić, head of the City Office for Culture, International Relations and Civil Society.

“To begin with, I would like to thank the city of Zagreb and the team at the Hippodrome in advance for their excellent cooperation. I am extremely happy that we managed to bring a big open-air show of such an international star to Zagreb. As a leading company on the Austrian market with an exceptional portfolio, I hope this project will be a starting point for great future projects in Zagreb and Croatia,” said Ewald Tatar, of Barracuda Music.

The news comes at the height of Sheeran’s record-breaking North American tour. He set records there with multiple performances, including SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles and MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. At the latter, he gathered the largest number of visitors ever at a single concert in the United States of America.

This year alone, Ed Sheeran released two albums: ‘-ʼ (Subtract) and Autumn Variations, both of which reached number one worldwide. They were released to critical acclaim in May and September, and on both LPs, Sheeran collaborated with The National’s Aaron Dessner.

His song ‘Shape of You’ has had 2.4 billion plays on Spotify in the last decade and is definitely his biggest hit so far. However, it was this song that brought him a lawsuit for plagiarism. He was sued by British musician Sami Chokri for copyright infringement. Chokri accused him of stealing part of his song ‘Oh Why’ from 2015, but Sheeran denied it from the very beginning. In 2022, the court decided that he was not responsible for such accusations.

About the Artist

He released his first album + in September 2011 and immediately achieved great success. Just one year later, he won the Brit Award for Best British Male Solo Artist. His international career started soon after, and he started composing for other stars, such as Taylor Swift and the now former boy band One Direction. He spent most of 2013 opening for Taylor Swift on her tour.

So far, he has released five albums: + (2011), x (2014), ÷ (2017), = (2021) and – (2023).

As for his personal life, he has been happily married to Cherry Seaborn since 2019, and they have two daughters – Lyra and Jupiter. They dated in 2015, and he dedicated many of his most beautiful songs to his wife, including the big hits ‘Shape of You’ and ‘Perfect.’ Earlier this year, Sheeran revealed that his wife was diagnosed with a tumor during pregnancy, which was not to be treated until after the birth. He admitted that writing songs is a form of therapy for him, helping him process his feelings.
