Now, time to learn about Beleca 2016…

Winemaker Andro Tomić has confirmed with the Beleca, but also with his other labels, that Hvar Island’s indigenous varieties, favourable climate and exceptional position of vineyards offer wines with superior possibilities. Beleca is a dramatic but also flaunting wine from two domestic varieties showing off all its splendour, a characteristic southern, but also a fresh wine.

The freshness and flaunt of the dry white wine Beleca 2016 is ideal for spring days, while the lower alcohol percentage (12.5%) makes it an ideal choice for daily consumption in good company.

Originally from Korčula, Pošip found a home all over Dalmatia and recently experienced a boom as one of the most praised Croatian white varieties. It gives wines with a full body and mighty aromas, traditionally combined with lighter varieties.

Bogdanuša is an indigenous Croatian variety of pronounced freshness and flower aromas. It is cultivated mostly on red soil which gives it additional refreshing acidity – an excellent match for Pošip.

In this synergy each of the varieties gives its best: potency, rich body and moderate acidity from the Pošip with typical variety aromas of apricot, peach (pit fruit) and minerality, while Bogdanuša offers gentler flower aromas and freshness.

The Beleca wine is served chilled to 10-12° C, recommended with various meals with white meat and fish, shells, but also with more spicy meals such as pesto, hard cheeses…
