Two million overnight stays were completed thirteen days earlier than last year!

As Glas Grada reports on the 26th of July, 2017 Dubrovnik has recorded a massive two million overnight stays as of yesterday, these huge numbers come thirteen days earlier than 2016, confirming the success of this year’s pre-season, but also the always successful summer season in the Pearl of the Adriatic. At present, our city is hosting 23,701 registered visitors in all types of accommodation.

Between January 2017 and yesterday (25th of July, 2017), arrivals totaled a massive 607, 862, an increase of 18%, and 2,544 nights, which is 16% more than the same period of last year. Most of the registered visitors were from other European countries including the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Croatia, Sweden, Spain, Finland and Norway, as well as from distant nations such as the United States and Australia.

The largest number of overnight stays were in hotels, with 1,133,403 nights, which makes up 56% of the total number of overnight stays, followed by private accommodation. where 654, 995 nights (33%) were completed.

The structure of known accommodation capacities in Dubrovnik consists of 11,649 regular beds in hotels, 14,599 regular beds in private accommodation, 1,542 beds in camps and 2,793 in other locations.

The data on tourist traffic was obtained by using the eVisitor system from the period of 01.01. – 25.07.2017.

Please keep in mind that this system does not include information on those arriving by sea, which is sure to make the number climb much, much higher owing to the popularity of cruise ship tourism in Dubrovnik.
