Encouraging entrepreneurship in Croatia.
83 contracts were signed today n The Croatian Chamber of Trades and Crafts as a part of the public tender ” Education in small entrepreneurship and trade” where all projects will be co-financed from the European social fund.
Minister of Labour and Pension System Mirando Mrsić stated that this is a fantastic investment because every single kuna spent in this project will be worth ten times more since it will help to develop and grow entrepreneurial skills. Mrsić also stated that a total of 467 projects applied for the tender and invited all of those who did not pass this time to apply again at the end of the year when the new tender will be published.
“We have to start adjusting to the current job market, schooling is important, however knowing how to work is even more important, you have to be aware of your skills and competences and they can only be achieved through constant work and continuous education. Some time ago more than 40% of employees were in some sort of a life-long education system while now we only have about 3% in the same system. This must be an impulse to change those stats for the better” – Mrsić added.
Minister of Labour and Pension System also announced the upcoming negotiations with the Ministry of Education regarding a dual education system whose intention is to significantly increase the amount of practical work in all specialised three-year high schools. This new system will finally enable all students to be prepared for the demanding job market as they graduate.
