ZAGREB, October 23, 2018 – US Ambassador Robert Kohorst said in Split on Monday Croatia should attract capital from his country and commended the highly skilled workforce which he said that entrepreneurs need.
He was visiting Split-Dalmatia County Prefect Blaženko Boban and they discussed possibilities for economic cooperation.
The United States has a lot of capital ready for investing which should be drawn to Croatia, and there is no reason for that not to happen, Kohorst said. Croatia is a safe and pro-American country with a highly skilled workforce, which entrepreneurs need, he added.
The Croatian government should go abroad and acquaint investors of its possibilities because deals will happen there, where the business environment is positive, Kohorst said, adding that work should be made easier for entrepreneurs on the Croatian market.
Croatia sometimes thinks everybody knows everything about it and that they know the possibilities but, unfortunately, that isn’t true, Kohorst said.
Boban told him that the number of US tourists visiting Croatia was growing, with a 4.5% annual increase in arrivals in the first nine months of this year.
