Average Zagreb Wage Sees Further Increase

Compared to the average Croatian monthly salary, which amounted to 6,014 kuna in October 2017, Zagreb’s average net salary paid for the very same month was 15.6 percent higher, at 938 kuna more.

As Poslovni Dnevnik writes on the 12th of January, 2018, the average net salaries of employees in Zagreb for October 2017 amounted to 6,952 kuna, which is nominally 0.45 percent more than it was one month previously and 5.7 percent higher on an annual basis, according to the Zagreb City Strategic Planning and Development Office.

The average Zagreb monthly salary paid in October last year was 31 kuna higher than the average for September, and 439 kuna more than the average salary paid in October 2016.

Compared to the average monthly salary on a national level, which amounted to 6,014 kuna in October, Zagreb’s average net salary paid for the very same month was 938 kuna more, meaning it was a considerable 15.6 percent higher.

Data from the Zagreb Statistical Office shows that the average net salary paid during the first ten months of last year amounted to 6,924 kuna and was nominally 5.9 percent higher than it was during the same period of 2016.

The highest average net salary for October 2017 was paid to employees involved in the extraction of crude oil and natural gas, amounting to 11,045 kuna, or 58.9 percent above the city average.

According to the average net salary for October 2017, employees employed in the production of basic pharmaceuticals and pharmaceutical preparation took home 10,431 kuna, and the average salaries in financial services were roughly 10,104 kuna, with those employeed in the production of computers, electronic and optical products earning 10,018 kuna per month.

According to the Department of Statistics of the City Office for Strategic Planning and Development of the City of Zagreb, the average gross salaries of employees in Zagreb for October last year amounted to 9,683 kuna, nominally 0.54 percent, or 52 kuna higher than they were during the previous month, and 4.9 percent, or 456 kuna more than the average recorded for October 2016.

In comparison to the average gross salary on a national level, which stood at 8.081 kuna in October 2017, the average gross salary in Zagreb was 1.602 kuna, a significant 19.8 percent higher.
