More good news for Croatian wine makers
Croatian winery Badel 1862 returned from the 16th annual Finger Lakes International Wine Competition with 4 medals – 1 gold and 3 silvers, the company announced on April 7, 2016.
More than 3800 wines entered this year’s competition from 26 countries, and according to 73 expert judges from 20 countries, Korlat Merlot 2012, Korlat Syrah 2011 and Dingač 50 2011 were all awarded silver medals while the gold went to Ivan Dolac Barrique vintage 2009.
Slaven Sabolić, Area Development Manager at Badel 1862 commented on the awards: “These awards are another confirmation of our quality on a very demanding US market. They will certainly contribute to the profiling of our wines in the US and give us a chance to increase our export. As our US distributors keep repeating, awards from competitions like this one are a fantastic “magnet” for consumers”.
