A major purchase for Croatian airline Trade Air.
Croatian airline Trade Air has purchased Airbus 320-200 aircraft, and has thus expanded its fleet to a total of three owned aircraft. Trade Air has announced that the A320-200 aircraft is currently being operated by the Portuguese airline SATA International and that it will be delivered in April 2016, reports Poslovni.hr on November 6, 2015.
Upon the arrival, the aircraft will be checked, and its exterior and interior will be adapted, after which it will be brought to the configuration with 180 seats. The first flight for Trade Air is planned for June 2016. Trade Air plans to lease its A320 to other companies, together with the flight crew. The A320 aircraft bought by Trade Air is 18 years old, and the price of such aircraft in the world market is usually between 12 and 14 million dollars.
In its current fleet, the airline has two aircraft Fokker 100, which each have 109 seats, and has leased one Embraer 120 with 30 seats. Trade Air is a family airline run by Marko Cvijin and deals with leasing aircraft to other companies and with charter transportation.
Since 2013, after winning the tender of the Ministry of Maritime Affairs, Transport and Infrastructure, it also flies on regular domestic routes which are financially supported by the state, connecting Osijek and Zagreb, Zagreb and Rijeka, Split and Rijeka, Split and Dubrovnik, and Dubrovnik and Rijeka.
Croatian national airline Croatia Airlines, which in its fleet already has Airbus 320 and 319 aircraft, has recently announced that it has signed a contract with Airbus on the purchase of four new A320neo aircraft. Now, Trade Air can also boast that it has an Airbus A320 in its fleet.
