After six months, Abrakadabra online shop is growing rapidly.
Six months after they launched the Abracadabra online platform – so called “Croatian Amazon” – Agrokor says it is very satisfied with the success of its e-commerce business. According to director of operations Anita Lacmanović, they have recorded a growth of between 80 and 120 percent per month, and by the end of the year they expect even better results, thanks to the recently launched digital and television marketing campaigns, reports Jutarnji List on October 9, 2016.
Based on the Abrakadabra’s data, the average customer’s basket in this online store varies between 700 and 1,500 kuna, and men and women equally use its services, with men being more focused on sports and electronics, while women are more likely to browse fashion brands and cosmetics.
“From the first day, we have recorded an intense and daily growth in the number of transactions, the value of the average basket, the number of customers, number of items, suppliers… We believe in this project and we have set very challenging goals. The indicator that we are on the right track is the fact that we have been continuously employing new people and exceeding our goals from month to month. This highly motivates us to become even better and stronger,” said Lacmanović.
However, Abracadabra did not reveal any financial indicators or detailed sales statistics, so it was not possible to find out information about their best-selling items. At the beginning of operations, Abrakadabra had in its offer as many as 100,000 different products, and Lacmanović explained that they were listening to the needs of consumers and accordingly adapting their offer. Therefore, they have recently included books in their offer.
According to the information presented at the launch, 40 million kuna were invested in the project. “That is the reason why market has recognized us as an online shopping mall, and not as a specialized online store. There is great interest in the categories of fashion, beauty and sports. We have made a big step forward with fashion and other brands which we represent exclusively, such as Bellabeat, Red Bull fashion, and numerous Croatian designers. Customers are from all over Croatia because we deliver various types of products, such as perfumes, bicycles, kayaks, car tires, and largest 75-inch TVs, to all locations, including the islands”, said Lacmanović.
Abrakadabra is already working intensively on regional expansion. “The greatest focus is on stabilization of business processes and their development, expansion of product range, services and innovations, and when it comes to customers, our biggest priority is customer satisfaction. We are constantly expanding and we already have more than 50 employees, and by the end of the year we plan to continuously employ new people”, concluded Lacmanović.
