Croatian Companies Sign Business Contracts in Russia

Companies from Croatia take part in the World Food Moscow fair.

Croatian companies have signed multimillion-dollar contracts with Russian distributors at the international food industry fair World Food Moscow, which took place from 12 to 15 September, announced on Thursday the Croatian Chamber of Economy, reports Poslovni.hr on September 15, 2016.

Sardina fish product company has contracted new orders for its products in the value of three million kuna through the Russian distributor Hayat-service, while the Kaprina company signed contracts for sale of dietary supplements in the amount of one million kuna through its Russian subsidiary Kaprina Moscow.

Eurocompany has concluded a deal on cooperation with the Russian company Be Fresh in sales of nuts and dried fruit, while Maraska signed a preliminary contract with distributors for the Russian market, with exports staring early next year.

“Our participation in this event allows us to sign direct contacts with Russian partners, primarily for the placement of product of the Croatian food industry in this important, large market”, said director of the Croatian Chamber of Economy’s office in Moscow Jakov Despot. He added that the Croatian Chamber of Economy’s office, in cooperation with the Croatian Embassy and the office of the Croatian National Tourist Board, would continue to work on promoting Croatian business interests in Russia, with a view to further strengthen the position of Croatian businesses in the Russian market.

During the fair, the Chamber organized a business conference and discussions with the participation of numerous representatives of Croatian and Russian companies.

Vice president of Podravka for Russia and CIS region Damir Perlok presented business results of Podravka on the Russian market. “In the last two years, thanks to a new business model, Podravka has achieved the highest sales growth in the last 20 years”, said Perlok pointing out that right now, at a time of political and economic crisis, companies should remain or come to the market in order to ensure good position in the future.

The exhibition area organized by the Croatian Chamber of Economy included Podravka, Maraska, Mlinar, Zvečevo, Belje, Sardina, Badel 1862, Eurocompany, Kaprina, Vegetariana, Fami & Anamarija Kava. The participation of the companies in the fair was organized by the Croatiam Chamber of Economy’s office in Russia, with the support of the Croatian Embassy in the Russian Federation and the Croatian National Tourist Board office.
