Since starting operations in Croatia, FlixBus has transported 100,000 passengers.

Since 16 June, when the first four international services from Zagreb, Split, Rijeka and Pula were launched, FlixBus has connected the whole of Croatia with more than 50 international cities and has developed a network of domestic services linking some 40 towns within Croatia, reports Poslovni.hr on September 15, 2016.

In cooperation with five Croatian partners from Slavonia, Dalmatia, Istria, Hrvatsko Zagorje and Zagreb, all parts of Croatia have been directly connected with major business, cultural and entertainment centres, such as Munich, Vienna, Budapest, Frankfurt, Milan, Turin, Rome, Ljubljana and many others. It is possible to reach more than 50 cities in neighbouring countries directly, while with just one change of busses you can reach even the more remote cities in Europe such as Paris, Amsterdam, Berlin, Bratislava and Prague. For those who are a little more flexible with their schedule, with two changes it is possible to reach Barcelona and London.

In this period, FlixBus has developed a network of local services as well. “We are really pleased that we have been able, in such a short period of time, to transport 100,000 passengers, to develop a network of domestic services and to increase their frequency. Our goal is to establish a successful green network of domestic lines and become a synonym for bus travel throughout Croatia”, said Dean Čebohin, business development manager for the Central and Eastern European region.

“At this point, the majority of passengers arrive from abroad, but we also have more and more travellers from Croatia who have recognized the service and benefits of FlixBus. This summer, most of foreign users travelled to Zagreb, Split and Zadar, while people from Croatia mostly travelled to Vienna, Munich and Budapest, which is associated with the fact that these cities are our largest hub”, said Čebohin.

So far, the company has created nearly 50 new jobs, including those in Zagreb and staff at partner companies, and they plan to further increase the number of jobs created for the next season. “All preparations and research for the entry of FlixBus in Croatia and the rest of the region have been worked out in detail. Therefore, we are proud of the speed and the way our business is developing. We want to became the largest bus company in Europe”, concluded Čebohin.
