May the 7th, 2024 – The remarkable Croatian Infobip has formed a significant partnership with no less than mobile giant Nokia for the more rapid development of telecommunication applications.
As Poslovni Dnevnik writes, the global cloud communication platform, Infobip, and Nokia, recently announced the conclusion of a partnership agreement. What they’ve agreed on will enable the global developer community to use their API platforms for the quicker development of a wide range of telecommunications applications, which are intended for private, business and industrial users.
The Croatian Infobip’s leading cloud-based CPaaS service provides developers with APIs to integrate multiple real-time communication channels (for example, SMS messages, voice communication, video calls, chat applications and network APIs) into their own applications. At the same time, Nokia’s Network as Code platform with a portal for developers offers them APIs for using the capabilities provided by the 5G network (such as quality of service on demand, precision device location and network slicing), as well as 4G networks.
Developers will as such be able to use the aforementioned options much more simply and easily. They will also be fully covered when it comes to network and CPaaS APIs in the development of their own solutions and capacities for improving application performance.
Nokia’s Network as Code platform with a developer portal unites networks from all over the world with system integrators and developers into a unique ecosystem. In doing so, it uses technical standards which have been carefully developed owing to industry initiatives such as the Open Gateway of the GSMA Association and the Linux Foundation’s CAMARA. Nokia and the Croatian Infobip company are therefore contributing to the efforts of both of these initiatives.
“The agreement with Nokia is another indicator of how Infobip helps telecoms to introduce new services and generate new revenues. We’re going to continue to develop additional CAMARA-compliant APIs and offer them worldwide. We’ll also work closely with our telco partners to offer developers APIs that feature a simpler user experience. This is proof of our global leadership position in the field of CPaaS services, strong ties with developers and previous strategic cooperation with telecommunication companies”, said Matija Ražem, Vice President of Infobip in charge of business development.
The incredible Croatian Infobip’s examples in the whole area of user engagement include number verification and SIM replacement APIs that are CAMARA compliant and already in use. In addition to that, Infobip is working on introducing other examples to the market, including APIs related to device location and quality on demand, for which it has signed a total of 12 cooperation agreements so far. Infobip’s CPaaS platform recently secured a place among the finalists in the GSMA’s inaugural Open Gateway Challenge at the Global Mobile Awards, thanks to collaboration on anti-fraud activities.
The joint work of the Croatian Infobip enterprise and Nokia will result in an even better developer experience, without complex navigation in a series of network technologies. It will also enable developers to integrate various options into their own applications even more quickly, unlike using the two companies’ platforms separately.
Since the presentation of the Network as Code platform in September 2023, Nokia has signed cooperation agreements with a total of 11 network operators and partners in the ecosystem, enabling them to use the platform.
“This partnership agreement is a reflection of our determination to work closely with the developer community. It’s all about providing more choice and scaling, and enabling developers to extract value from the platforms of Infobip and Nokia. We look forward to working with Infobip and maximising our technologies,” concluded Shkumbin Hamiti, Head of Nokia’s Network Monetisation Platform, Cloud Services and Network Services.
