Glamping Resort Soon to Open Close to Zrće

Something new for the area as glamping arrives.

As Sasa Paparella/Poslovni Dnevnik writes on the 27th of June, 2018, close to today’s globally recognised party destination – Novalja’s famous (or infamous, I guess that’s subjective, especially given recent tragic events) Zrće, above the neighboring beach of Katarelac, Zagreb’s Noa Group will soon open the Noa Glamping Resort.

In the area of a previous two-star quality camp, an area of up to 60,000 square metres will be readied by setting up as many as fifty glamping ”houses”, villa’s to be more precise, which have been upgraded to a four star rating. The project has so far had 15 million kuna invested into it, and rather ambitiously, the opening of the camp is planned for the heart of the summer season, July the 15th, 2018, so the luxury glamping resort should will receive its first ever guests as early as this season.

While in the summer, the nearby Noa Club is likely to be packed solid, the club was otherwise opened several years ago by the very same investors who in a very short time managed to make it wildly popular – the plans are that the guests will be attracted by the eco ambience before and after the resort’s main season.

“The whole camp project is designed as an Eco Glamping Resort, which means that the glamping tents and bungalows are made of baled straw. We’ve set up solar panels to keep electricity consumption to a minimum, and each cottage has a bio pit, where purified water is used for the irrigation of the surrounding environment,” they stated from Noa Group, owned by Zlatko Balaško and Ivan Jokić.

Otherwise, Zagreb’s Noa Hroup achieved massive income of 41.3 million kuna back in 2017. The investors in the new project claim that their “glamping tents and straw houses have received the highest ratings in the energy efficiency certification system.”

Motorhomes won’t be able to enter into the campsite, and staff will only use electric vehicles to get around the grounds. The investors have continued to emphasise the fact that the camp has been in place for three years now, and that it has already gone through the licensing process in accordance with the law.

It is interesting to note that, unlike nearby Zrće, which is located in the municipality of Novalja and Lika-Senj County, Noa and Katarelac beach are in the less developed tourist region of Kolan, located on the territory of Zadar County.

When asked if the Kolan municipality will see any benefit at all from the new campsite, the investors responded: ”The municipality will charge a sojourn tax and a fee for communal services, and we also expect to employ local service departments, such as the Kolan taxi service, with which we have an exclusive agreement on taking care of the transfer of guests of the resort. There are of course additional revenues that will be realised by directing our guests towards local tourist and hospitality facilities. The Noa Club has a state concession, and the concession fee is divided into a variable and fixed part, amounting to about one million kuna.”
